“Fontana has been a pretty successful track for me over the years. I enjoy coming out here and racing in my home state. The track surface is starting to get more worn out, providing for some good racing on our last few visits, which is always fun for us as drivers and for the fans.

HARVICK AT FONTANA: Harvick has a total of 18 starts in NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) competition at Fontana, earning one pole, 11 top-five and 15 top-10 finishes. His top-five and top-10 efforts rank first on the NXS all-time list at the two-mile oval. While he has yet to win at the track in the NXS, he’s finished second four times, led 276 laps and has an average finish of 6.9. In last year’s race, he led twice and was just one spot short of picking up a win, finishing second to Kyle Larson.
TOP-10 STREAK: When Harvick races in the NXS, he performs. The two-time NXS champion is currently on a streak of 27 top-10 finishes, dating back to April 2013. In the process, he also managed to rack up six NXS victories, including five with JRM, and 22 top-five finishes.
CALIFORNIA ROOTS: The Bakersfield, Calif. native was able to spend some extra time in his home state this week. Harvick traveled from Phoenix to Los Angeles following his win in last Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race, and has been getting out and about in California, including dropping the puck for Monday night’s L.A. Kings hockey game. He’ll pull double duty at his home track this weekend, racing in the NXS race on Saturday and the Cup race on Sunday.
TAXSLAYER AND HARVICK: Harvick has now piloted the TaxSlayer.com Chevy twice in his NXS career, finishing second at Fontana last year and third in Phoenix last week. While these are impressive finishes, the two-time NXS champion would be “happy” to give the Georgia-based tax preparation company their first win of 2015 this weekend.
