Quotes | Kevin Harvick
“Dave [Elenz] and the No. 88 JRM guys have been hard at work trying to make gains from where we were at Charlotte. I’m eager to see their progress when we unload on Friday morning.
“Michigan [International Speedway] is one of the fastest tracks that we’ll visit all season and it’s been a good track for me in the past, so I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do in the No. 88 Morton Buildings Chevrolet.”
Notes | No. 88 Team
HARVICK AT MICHIGAN: Kevin Harvick’s most recent trip to the two-mile oval with the NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) was in August 2010, where he earned a top-10 finish. Harvick has a solid record at NASCAR’s fastest track, racking up one win (August 2003), four top-five and seven top-10 finishes in nine NXS starts. The two-time NXS champion has one win at the facility in all three NASCAR national series, scoring a Cup Series victory in August 2010 and a Truck Series win in August 2011.
ANOTHER CHANCE AT TOP-FIVE RECORD: Harvick is chasing a milestone. With one more top five, he will tie Kyle Busch for the most all-time top-five NXS finishes at 175. Harvick already tops the all-time NXS top-10 finishes list with 240, leading both Busch (210) and Matt Kenseth (200).
WINNINGEST CHASSIS: The No. 88 team will unload with chassis No. 892 this weekend at Michigan International Speedway. Harvick has been the only driver of what is the winningest chassis in the No. 88 stable. He has never finished outside of the top eight with the car, earning three wins (Fontana in March 2015, Atlanta in February 2014 and 2015), six top-five and seven top-10 finishes in seven races. Harvick has led the most laps in five of those seven races, ultimately leading 448 laps for a total of 38.7 percent of all laps completed in chassis No. 892.
MORTON BUILDINGS: Morton teamed up with Harvick and JRM for two races in 2014, resulting in two top-five finishes. In 2015, Morton will be on board the No. 88 this week in Michigan and Indianapolis in July. A post-frame-building construction company, Morton Buildings designs custom state-of-the-art commercial buildings for a wide variety of purposes, including restaurants, office buildings and retail facilities.
