FedEx 400 Benefiting Autism Speaks at Dover International Speedway

Qualifying Results

• Kevin Harvick and the No. 4 Budweiser Folds of Honor Chevrolet SS team will start Sunday’s FedEx 400 Benefiting Autism Speaks from the eighth starting position following Friday’s qualifying session at Dover International Speedway.

• Harvick ended the first round of qualifying scored ninth on the speed chart and advanced to the second round. He posted a lap time of 22.154 seconds and a speed of 162.499 mph on his first run in the final round of qualifying, which put him eighth on the speed chart. He radioed to crew chief Rodney Childers that the car was too free, so the team made adjustments and he completed another run. Harvick’s second attempt was slower, so he remained eighth. 

• Brad Keselowski scored the pole award for Sunday’s race. Kyle Busch, Joey Logano, Jimmie Johnson and Kyle Larson complete the top-five starting positions.

• Teams had an 80-minute practice session on Friday morning to prepare for qualifying. The No. 4 Budweiser Chevrolet team started out in race trim and made several runs before switching over to qualifying trim. Harvick made one mock-qualifying run and ended up 12th on the speed chart.

• On Saturday, NASCAR Sprint Cup Series teams will have two additional practices at 9:30 a.m. ET and 12:30 p.m. ET to prepare for Sunday’s race. FOX Sports 1 will provide live coverage of both sessions.  

Harvick on qualifying at Dover International Speedway:

“The car was just too free to get the lap we needed in qualifying. Overall the car was fast in race trim this morning, so we’ll just work on that a bit more tomorrow to get ready for Sunday.”

The following is the starting position of the other SHR teams in Sunday's race:

• Tony Stewart and the No. 14 Code 3/Mobile 1 Chevrolet team will start 20th. 

• Kurt Busch and the No. 41 Haas Automation Chevrolet team will start 24th.

• Danica Patrick and the No. 10 GoDaddy Chevrolet team will start 28th.
