Qualifying Results
• Kevin Harvick and the No. 4 Folds of Honor/Outback/Budweiser Chevrolet SS team will start sixth in Sunday’s Toyota/Save Mart 350 after posting a lap time of 74.894 seconds and a speed of 95.655 mph in Saturday afternoon’s qualifying session at Sonoma Raceway.
• There were two rounds of qualifying at the 1.99-mile road course. Harvick posted the 10th-fastest lap in the first round to advance to the second. He made one run at the start of the second round that put the No. 4 Chevrolet sixth once qualifying was complete.
• Teams had two practice sessions on Friday to prepare for qualifying and the race. The No. 4 team focused on the car’s handling in race trim in the first session and made one mock-qualifying run in final practice before switching back over to race trim. Harvick was scored 19th fastest in the first session and 13th in the second.
Harvick on his qualifying effort at Sonoma Raceway:
“That was a good lap for us. Road course qualifying kind of stresses me out because there are so many opportunities to make a mistake. Our first goal was to get through the first round with a solid lap and we were able to do that. The second round was good for us too. We always want to do better, but we can see the front so that is a good thing on a road course.”
The following is the starting position of the other SHR teams in Sunday's race:
• Kurt Busch and the No. 41 Haas Automation Chevrolet team will start fifth.
• Danica Patrick and the No. 10 GoDaddy Chevrolet team will start 11th.
• Tony Stewart and the No. 14 Mobile 1/Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet team will start 21st.
