HARVICK ADDS NASCAR K&N PRO SERIES WEST & NASCAR XFINITY SERIES ROAD-COURSE RACES WITH SPONSORSHIP FROM FIELDS INC.
Charlotte, N.C. (April 25, 2017) -- Kevin Harvick is adding two road-course races to his 2017 NASCAR schedule with entries in the K&N Pro Series West at Sonoma Raceway and the NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) at Watkins Glen International. Joining Harvick, the 2014 NASCAR Cup Series champion, for both events is new KHI Management sponsor FIELDS, who built two Kevin Harvick Foundation Parks in recent years.
Harvick’s June 24 NASCAR K&N Pro Series West entry at Sonoma with Jefferson Pitts Racing marks his 23rd series start. In 22 appearances, Harvick has six wins, 13 top-five and 16 top-10 finishes, in addition to seven pole positions. In 1998, his only full-time K&N Pro Series West season, the Bakersfield, Calif., native won five of the 14 events he entered. His last series start came at Iowa Speedway in 2007.
The Aug. 5 NXS race at Watkins Glen International brings Harvick’s series total behind the wheel of the No. 41 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford to six in 2017. After competing in the Atlanta and Texas events earlier this year, the balance of his 2017 NXS schedule includes Charlotte (with sponsorship from Hunt Brothers Pizza), Kentucky (Hunt Brothers Pizza), Watkins Glen (FIELDS) and Darlington (Hunt Brothers Pizza).
“As a California kid, I learned to race on the West Coast and began to define myself as a driver in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West,” Harvick said. “So, the Sonoma race represents a fun return to my roots. I can’t thank FIELDS enough for supporting me in my ‘throwback’ trip, as well as my NASCAR XFINITY Series visit to Watkins Glen.”
FIELDS, the preeminent builder of fields and sports parks in the United States, is a partner of the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation, with whom the Kevin Harvick Foundation has allied in recent years to build multi-purpose youth development parks for underprivileged children. FIELDS built the Kevin Harvick Foundation Park in Bakersfield, Calif. (March 2016) and Greensboro, N.C. (November 2015). FIELDS currently is working with the two foundations to construct a third multi-purpose park, named in country music artist Jake Owen’s honor, in his hometown of Vero Beach, Fla. FIELDS, whose clients include the Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions and Michigan State University, is part of the Sports Fields, Inc. family of companies, comprised of FIELDS Maintenance, The Sports Force and Sports Force Parks. The recently opened Sports Force Parks at Cedar Point Sports Center is a state of the art youth tournament facility located in Sandusky, Ohio.
“FIELDS is thrilled to be an official sponsor of Kevin Harvick,” said Brian Storm, President and CEO of Sports FIELDS. “We truly admire Kevin’s dedication to his work and his passion for giving back to others through the Kevin Harvick Foundation. We’re excited and honored to be a part of Kevin’s team.”
